Day 3

So today, finally after two days sitting agonizingly close to it, we finally visited the iconic Wembley Stadium. Although we are going to the community shield on Sunday it was nice to tour the stadium and see all the behind the scenes details. It is a truly fantastic stadium, one or the best in the world. Despite some questionable jokes from our tour guide, it was a wonderful experience.  We saw the Bobby Moore statue, sat in the changing at the places of all the players including former captain Steven Gerrard, and finally also got to touch and take pictures with the FA cup.

We then proceeded to the tourist centre of central London in Piccadilly Circus. While not literally a circus (anymore), it has been described as the "Times Square" of London and with good reason. On a refreshingly nice English afternoon we wandered the area and took in the sights.  A very relaxing afternoon indeed.

Finally, on the way back to the hotel we stopped at Stamford Bridge in west London, the home of Chelsea FC.  We took some brilliant photos.

Another successful day in the books. I think everyone is getting fully used to the subtleties of English culture. On to the next!
